186 Fleet St. London: George Bell, 1854. Decorative Cloth. Good+. Delightful combination of fine Verse with fine Paintings. Complete with 22 Colour Plates, protected by thin paper guards. A very early example of Chromolithographs reproducing Paintings. Artists include Birket Foster, Harrison Weir and David Cox. Poets include Keats, Wordsworth, Cowper & Tennyson. Contemporary Red Cloth cover with fine indented Gilt Floral Decoration and title to front (same Decoration blind stamped on the back. All page edges Gilt. 10 1/2" Tall, 102 pages. 770g. Cloth Backstrip missing from spine and all pages, Plates and Guards loose, but Complete. Nice Gift inscription on ffep dated 1857. No other inscriptions. Pages and Plates in very nice, clean condition. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall
