About This Item

From the Foreword: "The record here set down is intended to be faithful to period and event without being strictly factual. Detailed data on the Pony Express are scanty, vague, and often contradictory. With a few exceptions it is not even know with certainty what men rode what routes." "...I have attempted to present in broad outline the character and atmosphere of an enterprise which, short-lived though it was, proved to be a vital link in the development of our transportation system."

Good+ condition. Book has been thoroughly cleaned, but there were stains on the cover that did not come off. Inside there are a few pages in both the front and back with tiny purple/brown spots. Green cover with black and faded gold gilt image and lettering. No odd smells. Beautiful, colorful end papers. Text is clean and binding is tight. Black & tan/gold illustrations throughout the book.

185 pages.
