First bound edition (was originally issued in 12 parts in paper wrappers), this novel takes place in Greenwich, England and is set around its great hospital for naval pensioners.
Clean and tightly bound in half calf over marbled paper covered boards. Spine with raised bands, blind stamped with maroon leather gilt title. Leather is worn and rubbed at extremities, corners bumped and worn, shelf wear to marbled paper, book plate, but still a handsome volume. Photos available.
