About This Item
NY: Viking Press, 1954. First Edition . Hardcover. Dust Jacket Included. Sixth printing (actually 1959) of the original Viking Portable, fine in a very good dust jacket. The jacket has unnecessary tape reinforcements around the top and bottom edges, with a little slight wear. The book is fresh and crisp, with lavender stain on the page edges and the $2.95 price on the front flap.
Synopsis
In prose of biblical grandeur and feverish intensity, William Faulkner reconstructed the history of the American South as a tragic legend of courage and cruelty, gallantry and greed, futile nobility and obscene crimes. No single volume better conveys the scope of Faulkner’s vision than The Portable Faulkner .
