About This Item
New York: Tasche, 1997. Paperback. Very Good+. 5 1/2 x 71/2, 576 pgs, sepia photo reproductions. The 81 sepia prints contained within are part of Curtis's monumental work of 2500 photographs. His immense project, while well-known, was not widely viewed before his death, because the size of the original sets were so large that they quickly disappeared into rare book rooms and institutions, out of easy reach even for scholars. The publication of this size of book made Curtis available for view by the larger audience.
