About This Item

London: Adam and Charles Black, 1915. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. London, Adam and Charles Black, 1915 [first reissue, in colour pictorial blue cloth, using the 1902 first edition sheets]. Octavo, 272 pages plus 10 plates. Pictorial blue cloth a little bumped and slightly worn at the extremities; spine sunned, a little marked and slightly torn at the head and foot; rear joint slightly split; front free endpaper removed (but the first leaf is a blank sheet of the same paper); a very good copy. This prolific author's very rare first book. Not in McIlvaine (but see A1a2, which does not have 1915 printed on the title page).
