Front and back endpapers reproduce first two pages of Chapter Four of the original novel's manuscript. Very slight shelf wear to top and bottom of dust jacket spine Tight binding and pages still look in excellent condition. Special 50th Anniversary edition of Greene's masterpiece, with an introduction by John Updike. 1990 Viking First Edition; First Printing of this anniversary edition as indicated by complete number line on copyright page. When Greene was asked which book meant the most to him, he replied "I think [The Power and the Glory]'s my best book." Hardcover and original dust jacket (but price-clipped) protected by archival Mylar cover.
Synopsis
Graham Greene (1904–1991) worked as a journalist and critic, and was later employed by the foreign office. His many books include The Third Man , The Comedians and Travels with My Aunt . He is the subject of an acclaimed three-volume biography by Norman Sherry.
