First edition 1815 A Practical Treatise on Gas-Light A Fine and complete copy with all 7 hand-coloured aquatint plates, 2 folding, some shaving edge of folding plates touching platemarks, contemporary ink signature to head of title, title browned, some occasional light soiling or offsetting, final plate a little stained, modern calf-backed marbled boards, red morocco label, an excellent NEar Fine copy.[Abbey, Life 436], 8vo, 1815. An iconic work on gas-light technology which did much towards London and other major cities installing it to light houses, streets etc. The fine plates depict machinery, apparatus, and light fittings & chandeliers.
