Very good. 116 pages. 28 x 22 cm, Sixty plates, plus and additional, Plate A (not noted in "Contents of Plates") following Plate no. 43, and giving four designs for base mouldings. HITCHCOCK 137. Greek orders and exterior and interior trim, plans, elevations, and details of a Doric church on plates 51-56. KARPEL B98. "Benjamin's fifth book. Pl.7 is a new order invented by the author for a specific American use." Benjamin in an explanation notes, "My reasons for so doing proceed from the fact, that more than one half of all columns and entablatures erected in country situations.... belong neither to the Grecian nor Roman system." Scattered foxing throughout, chip at backstrip head.
