N Y: E. P. Dutton and Company. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1903. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Sepia; xiii, 183 pages; Width: 12" Height: 15.5". This is a scarce limited edition of this work, being copy 44 of 50 which were for sale in the United States. Antique folio is bound in brown cloth with stamped gilt lettering to spine and front cover. Book shows external wear, with sunning and spotting to spine. Fraying is visible at top and bottom of spine. Covers display rubbing and some scratching. Binding is firm. Pages exhibit occasional marginal smudging. Top edge of plates have minor moisture markings. Work is illustrated with 54 photogravures, including tissue-guarded frontispiece. Author: Charles Ricketts - Charles de Sousy Ricketts was a versatile English artist, illustrator, author and printer, and is best known for his work as book designer and typographer from 1896 to 1904 with the Vale Press, and his work in the theatre as a set and costume designer. No markings. .
