About This Item
Text is clean and unmarked in a tight, bright, and square binding. Volume appears unused. Price unclipped DJ has very light smudging on the back. From the front DJ flap, "This book, composed of various diplomatic papers written by Mr. Kennan at the time, constitutes an eyewitness report of the years 1938-1940 in Prague, describing the initial impact of the Nazi occupation on the various parts of the former Czechoslovakia. George Kennan's assigned function at that time was political reporting, until March 1939 as Secretary of Legation, and then, after the Germans occupied the country, as a 'foreign service officer' charged with the custody of the diplomatic premises."
