Description:
Prairie School Press, 1964. First Edition. Trade Paperback. Good. Toning to covers and pages, dampstaining to bottom edges of covers that has a minor but noticeable effect to entire magazine, soiling to covers, dinginess to staples, and a tear (about an inch) to the top of the spine. 18, [2] pages (including wrappers). Inaugural issue of the periodical, devoted almost entirely to the West Virginia-born and Michigan-based Prairie School architect (1864-1926); notable for the inclusion of Maher's own essay 'Originality in American Architecture', plus a biographical essay by J. William Rudd and a partial listing of executed buildings at rear. Also notable for the short essay 'Frank Lloyd Wright's Drawings Preserved' by R. R. Cuscaden. 24 b/w Illustrations (including wrappers).
