With the binder's stamp to the verso of front pastedown. This is one of 200 large paper copies printed in July 1936. Signed by the author. Originally intending to be a clergyman in the footsteps of his father, Walpole was later encouraged to write by Henry James and Arnold Bennett, and became a hugely successful author during the 1920s and 1930s, but has been largely neglected since his deathA finely bound copy of this work. A fantastic opportunity to own an exceptional copy of this work. In a full crushed morocco binding. Externally, fine. Light shelfwear to the joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
