Half cloth over printed paper covered boards. Remarkable work on the 1908-9 season in which Ayrton, in collaboration with W. L. S. Loat, excavated the Pre-dynastic cemetery of El-Mahasna. It is exquisitely illustrated with 38 b/w plates, plans and charts. Some rubbing and sunning along edges of binding. Spine partly chipped. Ex-library copy with library stamps on inside of front cover. Binding in overall poor to fair, interior in good+ to very good condition.
