Octavo, pages 135-149 plus 6 chromolithographs and 16 plates (contained in xxxvi, 875, [1] (colophon) pages plus 107 plates, which include numerous tables, formulae and graphs, a folding colour plan, 7 colour maps (4 folding), 11 tinted lithographs and 14 chromolithographs). Contemporary full dark blue morocco extensively stamped in gilt and blind, and lettered and decorated in gilt, in compartments, on the spine, with double gilt-rules on the sides, and gilt inner dentelles; marbled edges and endpapers; leather slightly rubbed at the extremities and moderately sunned on the spine; folding plates and chromolithographs a little foxed; one folding plate a little creased, another one slightly proud of the leading edge; minimal signs of age and use; overall, in excellent condition. 'Section F, Ethnology and Anthropology' also contains other important articles, including LAUTERER, Joseph: Outlines of a Grammar of the Yaggara Dialect (6 pages); ENRIGHT, W.J. and R.H. MATHEWS: Rock Paintings and Carvings of the Aborigines of New South Wales [in the Wollombi Caves] (13 pages plus 2 folding plates, one in colour); PARKHOUSE, T.A.: Native Tribes of Port Darwin and Neighbourhood (10 pages plus a map); and MAGAREY, A.T.: Aborigines' Water-Quest in Arid Australia (12 pages).

Many of the 180 or more articles are slight, but some of the more significant ones include MAIDEN, J.H.: The Chemistry of the Australian Indigenous Vegetation (32 pages); MUELLER, Baron Ferdinand von: The Commerce of Australia with Neighbouring Countries in relation to Geography (14 pages); SMYTH, H. Warrington: The Upper Mekong, Siam (19 pages plus 9 tinted lithographs, a reproduced photograph and a folding colour map); and a lengthy and important series of contributions on Corea [sic] (51 pages plus 20 plates, 8 chromolithographs, one folding colour plan, and 5 colour maps, 2 of them folding).
