Good/G. vol1 has smudge to back cover. wear to spine ends. textlbock edges have light marks & spotting. vol1 textblock has detached from spine; tailband detaching; textblock appears firm & pgs intact. vol2 spongy spine top; textblock attached.. salmon pink cloth w/ gilt spine printing. vol 1 & 2: 1291 pgs w/ bw illustrations. pictorial dustjackets w/ red spines & red printing. Dustjackets have sunned spines; edge-wear; spine tops and edges chipped and torn. Both volumes have instances of pencil marginalia and notations; volume one appears to be concentrated to opening chapters and volume two with a few, sporadic instances. Suitable reading copies.
