First edition thus, American issue with Macmillan imprint at base of spine. 476pp. Bound in publisher's dark green cloth stamped with an ornate gilt peacock design, illustrated by Hugh Thomson, all edges gilt. Very Good+ with lean to binding, light bump to bottom edge of rear board and faint staining to rear board, front and rear inner hinges with webbing exposed, tear to edge of front free endpaper, contents browned.
