Jean-Jacques Burlamaqui (1694–1748) was a Swiss legal and political theorist who popularized a number of ideas propounded by other thinkers. His writings on natural law circulated widely in America in the decades leading up to the Revolution, with Jefferson foremost among his readers. Text-block with old staining and occ. worming and other minor issues but otherwise complete in new binding. Small institutional (library?) stamp on reverse of t.p.. (froc)
