Hardcover, Special Reprint 1978 (of First Edition dated 1892) Classics of Medicine Library, 1079 pages plus laid-in 30-page pamphlet. Fine with No DJ-as issued. LEATHER BOUND,large and heavy, Black boards, gilt titles, all edges of text block also gilt. Covers are stated to be die-stamped in 22 karat gold, borders outlining front and back boards with gilt fleur-de-lis designs in all corners and center, 5-ribbed spine with gilt embellishment. Marbled end-papers. All interior pages are clean, crisp, bright and tight. No prior owner markings. Sewn-in black ribbon bookmark is intact. Notes from the Editor (a 30-page booklet)is laid-in, also unmarked. This beautiful volume appears to be unread. LOC SSS-FB-02
