Minor nicks and rubbing at joints, caps crushed with short heel tears, light edgewear, large quill owner "T.L.Peacock, March 25, 1900" ffep. From author preface of July 8, 1898..."The present edition has been wholly recast. With their wonted liberality the publishers have furnished a new font of type and a somewhat enlarged page so that the additions have not materially increased the size of the volume. A paper of better quality has also been used." Osler himself would complete revisions on his classic work through the 7th Edition of 1909, a work which would extend to 'twenty something' and counting editions and facsimiles in multiple languages.
