The Third UK printing published by The Clarendon Press / Oxford University Press, London in 1947. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. Light pushing at the spine ends. The gilt titling remains bright. Some toning to the text-block with a little minor staining and dustiness to the upper text-block. The pages remain clean with just a little light toning to the extreme page edges. Light offsetting to the end-papers with a small bookseller's sticker to the lower front paste-down. A small penned previous owner's name and date to the upper front blank end-paper. The WRAPPER is neatly price-clipped and is in Very Good+ condition. Some toning to the spine, flap folds and less so to the upper edges. A little light marking in places with a little loss at the spine ends and corners. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book was first published in 1930, revised once in 1935, and then this augmented 3rd edition was issued with Dirac's improved notation and a new preface by the author detailing the substantial alterations to the text (see image). A rare copy of this key augmented edition of Dirac's masterpiece on theoretical physics, which gave birth to the field of Quantum Electrodynamics.
