np: 1803. An early Upper Canada land grant, complete with the original wax seal of the province (imprinted with anchor, crown and sword). The grantee, George Chisholm, was a United Empire Loyalist who was settled in the Township of Flamborough East, near Hamilton. His son, William Chisholm, became a prominent Upper Canada politician and businessman who founded the town of Oakville. with wax seal
