About This Item
London: Hutchinson of London, 1957. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Good. 8" by 5.5". None. A first edition of this historical novel by Dennis Wheatley. 'This most thrilling, romantic and gay story of ten years in the young manhood of the Duke de Richleau in the France of the 'nineties shows the "prince of thriller-writers" at his very best.' Dennis Wheatley was a prolific author of thrillers, and was one of the best selling authors of the twentieth century due to this. He wrote various series, including the 'Duke de Richleau' series, and the 'Gregory Sallust' series. Some of his other novels include 'The Forbidden Territory', 'They Used Dark Forces', and 'Such Power is Dangerous'. In a decorative cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, generally smart. Light shelfwear to the boards. The odd light spot to the fore edge. Dustwrapper is sound, though with some marks, and some slight edgewear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, and generally clean. Very Good
