Five raised bands to spines with brown and dark brown title labels, gilt decoration to compartments; brown and gold marbled paper boards, matching the end papers. Bindings very good with minimal wear only. Contents clean and tight, a little foxing to front and rear blanks, internal pages unmarked, a few pages slightly rough at edges; title page to vol. I lightly worn at edges. Provenance with the armorial bookplates of Alfred [Newman] Gilbey (1901 - 1998) to the front paste-downs.
