London: Otto Monsted Ltd. Hardback. Very Good/No Jacket. 738 4to. A 25th Anniversary celebration publication of the margarine producers and packers, Otto Monsted Ltd, of Southall. The Anniversary dates the book to 1912/1913. Brown paper-covered boards, titles on paper label to front board, 31 pages, decorated initial letters to chapters. Many photographs- the factory, the private goods railway station, employees etc etc. Folding panoramic view of the factory. A nicely-produced book, which leads early on with the challenging statement that "There is probably no more romantic or remarkable development inside commercial or industrial circles than that of Margarine". Condition notes: Boards and paper worn, chipped and rubbed. Internally clean, sound and bright.

Grey boards with unlettered bron cloth spine, title label to front, generally clean but some outer corner rubbing (in acetate wrap-around sleeve as acquired). Dedication page+f/piece photo tipped onto brown card, with protective tissue + illustrated t.p.+ pp.1-19 (with photo of 'The Modern Milkmaid' to verso p.19 + (1, blank)+ c.50 unnumbered ill. plates on recto c.100 pp., one being an unfolding 5 pp. panoramic photo of the factory, + an ill.t.p. 'A few remarks to the Retail Trade'+ pp.20-31+photo of their delivery van verso p.31 +_ (1, black on orange printed decorated colophon with printer and illustrator details, all printed text pp. in red border. Text sections open with large red illuminated capitals. Actually undated but founded in 1989 according to opening account. Clearly a lavish production.
