Description:
London: Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1962. Fine copy in full dark blue cloth with gilt titled spine. 654 pages + publisher's ads at rear. In a very good dust jacket with protective mylar cover. "One of the most important of Jung's longer works, and probably the most famous of his books, Psychological Types appeared in German in 1921 after a "fallow period" of eight years during which Jung had published little. He called it "the fruit of nearly twenty years' work in the domain of practical psychology," and in his autobiography he wrote: "This work sprang originally from my need to define the ways in which my outlook differed from Freud's and Adler's. Description:
New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1923. First Edition. Very Good/Very Good. First edition, first printing. Bound in publisher's original dark green cloth. Very Good with light soiling to cloth, backstrip creased, light wear to corners and spine ends. In a dust jacket from ca. 1927, which advertises Roback's The Psychology of Character from that year on the rear flap; either this could be supplied later by an owner, or the publisher possibly sent out the 1923 editions in later dust jackets until the back-stock of 1923 editions was exhausted. The jacket is Good, with chipping at spine ends, edge wear, and partial splits started at the rear spine joint. Very rare in dust jacket and one of Jung's first truly important books to appear in America.
