This heavily illustrated, lush presentation of the second and third parts of Dante's Divine Comedy (Inferno being the first) has illustrations and designl by M. Gustave Dore. Translation by Rev. Henry Francis Cary, with accompanying notes. There are 60 illustrations. Page edges are gilt.
Condition: Front board has some damage to the art--looks like wear. The edges of the boards are worn, with small tears. Binding is tight and very good except for front endpapers, which are loose and have prior owner's name, and with inscription as gift from brothers, June 5/1889. Otherwise, no marks, with overall very good condition.
