Circa 1860 - small square 8vo, 6 3/4in, 17.5cm, 31pp.Illustrated with the wood engraved frontis and 11 tinted with hand colouring wood engraved plate, illustrations keeping close to the originals designed by Otto Speckter printed in the first edition 1844. Bound in decorative boards with the original blue paper RARE dust wrapper with a wood engraved design of a cat with in a decorative border. The dust wrapper is torn with small pieces missing, boards a little worn at top & bottom, the front blank endpaper is acidic and is now detached and creased, else a very fine copy. Unique in this condition.[Necker 1605-64]
