About This Item

Assen, Netherlands: Van Gorcum & Comp, 1966. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Tall octavo. 323pp. Illustrations. Owner's stamp on front fly, corners slightly bumped, else near fine in attractive very good dustwrapper with modest edgewear and soiling. Inscribed by the author to Professor C.W. Vollgraff. Some light and easily erasable pencil annotations in the text, (left there by us intentionally). De Vogel's work on early Pythagoreanism is highly regarded, he traces references from both well-known and obscure sources to build a profile of the real Pythagoras. Scarce, especially Inscribed.
