Hardcover. small quarto, [20], 839 pages, [44] index; VG; bound in early brown leather, paneled spine with gilt lettering and tooling; moderate wear and rubbing to boards; chipping to head and tail of spine; small bookplate to front pastedown, small piece of paper tipped onto rear pastedown; interior clean; with engraved portraits of Horace and Laevinius Torrentius. NOTE: Shelved in Room G. Laevinius Torrentius, or in Dutch Lieven van der Beke, was the editor of this 1608 edition, and was appointed the second bishop of Antwerp in 1576. 1300524.
