Remains of old paper label at head of spine. Former owner's name on front free endpaper: Heinr. Janssen. Circular stamp on title page: Canisius College, Buffalo, N.Y. A scarce edition of a popular work by an early Christian author from the Roman city of Carthage in northern Africa. Entirely in Latin. Notations in German script throughout, primarily in the margins and almost entirely in pencil. In Very Good- Condition: marbled paper over spine lacking; edges of boards rubbed; scraped on back board at head of spine; light foxing throughout; notations as described above; otherwise clean and tight.
