Barrie (1860 - 1937), which was written before his more famous work Peter Pan. The story is about two sisters who start a school "for genteel children". The original Broadway production opened in 1901 and ran for only 64 performances.

Hugh Thomson (1860 - 1920) was an Irish Illustrator born at Coleraine near Derry, Ireland. He is best known for his pen-and-ink illustrations of works by authors such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and J. M. Barrie. Thomson inaugurated the Cranford School of illustration in 1891.
