Book is tight, square, but is marked on front wrap and interior by Gwen Shatford who, in a very nice penmanship, has recorded the history of her life in Quartz Hill from 1948-1982, and made several additions/corrections to the text. Book Condition: Very Good; stain spot on front wrap; splash stain on rear and top of textblock. No DJ. Yellow printed card stock wraps. Wraps are not bent or folded; spine is securely saddle stapled; text is secure in binding. 80 pp 8vo. This book attempts to present a picture of Quartz Hill as it was in the beginning of the century, its growth, and present status. Based on interviews with local citizens there are stories about old-timers, their hardships, and their victories. Articles about organizations, schools, churches, civic groups, and prominent citizens are included so one can get to know the community. A clean very presentable copy.
