A fine first edition of this children's work by Bernard Stone, brilliantly illustrated by Ralph Steadman and signed by the author to the title page. This fantastic tale tells of Quasimodo and Toothy travelling to the South of France by tandem.Written by Bernard Stone (1924-2005), a children's writer and bookseller. Stone was an important figure in the London literary scene, hosting many gatherings in his bookshop, Turret Bookshop. He published four children's works of his own, this being the most renowned. Illustrated by Ralph Steadman, best known for his work with Hunter S. Thompson. He is known for his political caricatures and picture books.Signed by the author to the title page. Illustrated in colour throughout. In the publisher's original laminated paper covered boards. Externally, lovely, with just a few small marks to the rear board. Signed by the author to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Fine
