London and Paris: Boussod, Valadon & C o. Fine Art Publishers to Her Majesty, 1897. Text set up and printed in London by J.S.Virtue & Co. The plates were engraved and printed by Boussod, Valadon & Co. at Asnieres-sur-Seine near Paris. 200 pages with colored frontispiece depicting a young Queen and Prince of Wales from a miniature by Robert Thorburn. 41 high quality engraved plates, many full-page with printed tissue guards. A large volume handsomely bound in three quarter crimson morocco and marbled paper covered boards. Five raised bands on spine, gilt lettering to spine with 1897 at tail. Top edge gilt with fore and bottom edges rough cut. Marbled pastedowns and endpapers. Moderate shelfwear and rubbing with cracks to the top and bottom of the front joint but binding still strong. Short cellotape mark to top of blank flyleaf, some light foxing, few tissue guards have creased corners but no tears. A presentable copy of a handsomely produced book. See photos.
