Full imitation tan leather with gilt design to upper cover, spine lettered in gilt, tan endpapers, a.e.g. Author's signature in blue ink to front paste-down and f.f.e.p. 33 list maps and illustrations in addition to many others. Gift inscription dated Christmas 1984 to f.f.e.p. in blue ink. An excellent copy. First published in 1981. Sir Christian John Storey Bonington is a British mountaineer. His career has included nineteen expeditions to the Himalayas, including four to Mount Everest.
