Illustrations from the frieze in the Boston Public Library by Edwin Austin Abbey. 26 Illustrations finely printed on tissue and mounted on guards. Text by Ferris Greenslet. First edition. Original green cloth, gilt, top edge gilt. Cloth worn at edges and faded, the spine especially, else a good copy with a very good textblock.
A paraphrase of the Grail episodes are adapted to follow the paintings, which are used as the framework for the finished narrative. Stunning illustrations.
