A very smart first edition of this thrilling by Graham Greene, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. First edition. Journalist Thomas Fowler is sent to report on the breakdown of French colonialism in Vietnam and the early involvement of American in the Vietnam War. Written by Graham Greene, an English writer and journalist considered one of the leading authors of the twentieth century. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with sunning to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. The odd spot to the flaps. Internally, Firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1955. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown. Near Fine
Synopsis
Graham Greene (1904–1991) worked as a journalist and critic, and was later employed by the foreign office. His many books include The Third Man , The Comedians and Travels with My Aunt . He is the subject of an acclaimed three-volume biography by Norman Sherry.
