Description:
Chicago: The Lewis Publishing Company, 1919. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Fair. 2 vols. 1502p total. Ex-library. A set of two hardcover books bound in 3/4 black cloth with marbled boards. Edges heavily scuffed, labels and call numbers on spines, and stamps on foredges. Volume 1's spine is reinforced with plain black cloth on which the title has been handwritten. Cloth splitting along edges of volume 2's spine (boards still securely attached). Additional stamps and card pockets inside. Small stains in margins of first and last several pages in volume 1. Otherwise, text clean and binding tight. Worn but readable copies. Two-volume history of Quincy, Illinois, illustrated with black and white plates. Volume 1 is historical and volume 2 is biographical.
