Moderate tanning and wear marks to flaps, panels and spine.

Includes black and white engravings and full-page colour engravings by R C, and E Evans. All text block edges red. Pages moderately marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Heavier blotchy tanning and foxing towards start and end of book. Owner's inscription to front endpaper and pastedown. Front hinge starting to crack, but text block remains firm. A few pages have red in margins from text block colouring. Text block edges slightly uneven. Boards have moderate edge wear, with bumping and fraying to corners and medium crushing to spine ends. Small scratches and faintest water staining in a few places. Book has a slight forward lean.

London: Frederick Warne, c.1910 Undated edition, though probably c.1910. HB. Pictorial cloth on bevelled boards in shades of brown and buff, gilt decorations to spine. Oblong quarto. Paginated in individual stories. Nine stories, including Hey Diddle Diddle, A Frog He Would a-Wooing Go and the Great Panjandrum Himself. With engravings throughout in plates and text after drawings by Randolph Caldecott, many in colour. Very Good condition overall. Covers largely clean and bright with some browning and rubbing to edges. Front internal hinge split though binding sound. Most pages clean with some light browning or spotting; One page has a large tear without loss.
