Philadelphia: John C. Winston Co., [1950-1952]. Two vols. 8vo. [6], 216; vii, [3], 213, [1] pp. Frontisps. both vols., numerous text illustrations. Red cloth, black lettering first vol; green cloth, purple lettering 2nd vol., both w/ d.j.s. cover art by Busoni (slight shelfwear, very slight dustsoiling), F/NF set. First editions, stated, for both titles in this wonderful juvenile mystery series about how the marvels of radio & television solved the crimes and saved the family fortunes. Binns (1889-1971), was a noted Washington author who won renown for Lightship, a semi-autobiographical novel about life on a Lightship in the Columbia River, and The Laurels are cut down which won the Literary Guild Choice Award, and the Prix Femina Americaine. These were his first two Juvenile titles and are exceedingly scarce in this condition.
