About This Item
MP3 Audio CD. Radioactive Substances
INTRODUCTION.
The present work aims to expose the research that I am pursuing
for more than 4 years on radioactive substances. I started these
research by a study of uranic radiation that was discovered by
Mr. Becquerel. The results to which this work led me appeared
to open a path so interesting, that abandoning its work by train,
Mr. Curie joined me, and we united our efforts in order to succeed
extraction of new radioactive substances and to continue
their study.
From the beginning of our research, we thought we should lend
samples of substances discovered and prepared by us to some
physicists, in the first place to M. Becquerel, to whom is due the discovery
uranic rays. We ourselves have facilitated
research by others than us on radioactive substances
new. Following our first publications, Mr. Giesel in
Germany also began to prepare these substances and
lent samples to several German scientists. Then these
substances were put on sale in France and Germany, and the subject
taking on more and more importance gave rise to a movement
scientist, so that many memoirs have appeared and appear
constantly on the radioactive bodies, mainly abroad. The
results of various French and foreign works are necessarily
entangled, as with any new and emerging subject of study
training. The aspect of the question changes, so to speak, by day
in days.
