Bound in bule paper-covered boards with gilt lettering and an unclipped dust wrapper. First edition. Signed by author. John Grant (b.1933) is an English crime writer, who writes under the pseudonym Jonathan Gash, and is most famous for his Lovejoy series. Grant is a doctor by training and worked as a general practitioner and pathologist. He was head of bacteriology at the School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for the University of London between 1971 and 1988. A Rag, a Bone and a Hank of Hair is the twenty-first Lovejoy novel. These are a series of picaresque novels about the adventures of Lovejoy, a British antiques dealer based in East Anglia whose scruples are not always the highest. He does however have a reputation for recognising exceptional items as well as for distinguishing fakes or forgeries from genuine antiques. In a cloth binding in the original dustwrapper. Externally in lovely condition. The binding is tight and firm. There is almost no wear to the extremities. There is almost no wear to the dust wrapper. Internally the pages are clean and bright. Fine
