His fresh and versatile essays were published in the the Sydney Morning Herald, or as talks broadcast on ABC Radio. A broad range of topics are covered, including insights into Australian culture. Published in 1943: he arrived in Sydney four years previously from London to occupy the pulpit of this leading Australian church. He has travelled extensively.
