But his mother uses the money to buy a house for the family. Mr Lindner, a representative of the all-white neighbourhood, tries to buy them out.

Synopsis

A Raisin in the Sun is the best-known  work of author and playwright Lorraine Hansberry. It debuted on Broadway in 1959, making Hansberry the first African American woman to achieve this honor. The title comes from the poem "Harlem" by Langston Hughes.
