This is a scarce, early copy of "Raphael's Private Lessons in Astrology" or, "Raphael's Private Instructions in Genethliacal Astrology" by Robert T. Cross. The text is written entirely in script. "Being Adapted for Those, who are a Little Advanced in the Study of Astrology." 1903 presumed 2nd Edition "Revised and Amended" (following the 1st edition published in the 1880's); published in Great Britain.

Robert T. Cross was a British astrologer who used the pseudonym "Raphael." He was editor of "The Prophetic Messenger" (later renamed to "Raphael's Ephemeris") and published his "Guide to Astrology," which was widely used by astrologers for many years.

Genethliacal (or, Natal) Astrology is the system of astrology based on the concept that each individual's personality or path in life can be determined by constructing a natal chart for the exact date, time and locations of that individual's birth. This system of astrology can be found in the Indian or Jyotish, Chinese and Western astrological traditions.
