True story of the magical monk who was the favorite of the royal family (Nicholas & Alexandra) in Tzarist Russia. His assassination in 1916 helped ignite the Russian Revolution.Translated from the original German (1927) by F. S. Flint & D. F. Tait. Originally published in English in 1928 by Viking, this is a later (undated) reprint, in 386 pages with photographic frontispiece + 6 pages of glossy black-and-white photos throughout text. Hardcover 8vo has red cloth-covered boards lettered in black to spine. Condition is VG: very clean save for a few spots to ffep. Binding strong & straight, pages moderately tanned, heavier around edges, but unmarked. Mild corner bumping. NO DJ (missing).
