New York Hastings House, 1941, First Edition. hardcover. Limited Edition, this is copy number 269 of 300, SIGNED by Chamberlain (design and editor) and Moffat (introduction). There is "an original signed etching, made expressly by Samuel Chamberlain for this edition" An etching is inserted by the printer opposite the limitation page, "Butchers Row - Coventry" [the signature is obscured by the etching]. -- Contains seven by Chamberlain, frontispiece by Claire Leighton, many etchings, photos, drawings by others. Lists by place and by artist. -- Hardcover, 179 pages, 7x9.5 inches. Conditon: very good (spine lightly sunned; owner name and bookplate) with slipcase which is mottled and worn at the tips.
