Bound in contemporary half calf, spine with gilt-lettered red morocco label and some gilt decoration, yellow-dyed edges (little soiling of boards, lower corners bumped). Text generally crisp and clean with very little age-toning and minor pale foxing and spotting in places, tear (paper flaw) in p. 101/2 of part I. Provenance: bibliothèque du château de Barante (bookplate to front pastedown). Fine copy. ----
