London: Ernest Benn Limited 1933 First edition thus. Blue cloth with black spine lettering/rule, 252 pages. Novel involving synthetic diamonds. Bleiler [1978 Checklist page 106 coded "a" for As the title indicates]. Reginald 07688. Also in Hubin [1984 Crime Fiction page 213].
"Ray Smith Libraries / 65, Farringdon Street / London E. C.4." stamped [but now partially faded] to the bottom of the last page of the story. A Fair copy with spine toned and cocked, lightly bumped, top edge dust-soiled, a few small spot stains to the fore-edge, creasing to the rear flyleaf, small area of staining to the rear hinge, binding starting, and the text paper is toned but not yet brittle and all text is present, clean and readable.
